Kia ora whānau,
In collaboration with the Inglewood High School Board, the Ministry of Education is developing an enrolment scheme for Inglewood High School.
The purpose of an enrolment scheme in a state school is to:
avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, at the school, and
ensure the selection of applicants for enrolment at the school is carried out in a fair and transparent manner, and
enable the Secretary to make the best use of existing networks of state schools.
With an enrolment scheme, whānau living within the zone boundary have an absolute right to enrol at Inglewood High School if they so choose. This does not mean living in-zone means you must enrol at Inglewood High School; you still have the choice of any of the great High Schools/Colleges without an enrolment scheme. However, if you live outside the enrolment zone, you may be subject to a priority balloting process.
As part of the development of the scheme we are formally consulting with all people living in the area for which the school is a reasonably convenient school. We invite you to provide your feedback through the Ministry of Education website https://www.education.govt.nz/our-work/consultations/open-consultations/inglewood-high-school.
Consultation closes 23 August 2024.
Re Year 9, 2025 Enrolments (In Zone and Out-of-Zone)
Due to constraints that are outside of our control, the ballot for Year 9, 2025 Out-of-Zone students has been delayed. It will now be held on Friday 23 August.
The closing date for Out-of-Zone pre-enrolments is now 9.00am Wednesday 21 August.
While we would prefer to receive all Year 9, 2025 In Zone enrolments by the same date, students who live in the IHS Home Zone may enrol at any time.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.
You will be notified of the result of the ballot by Monday 26 August at the latest.
The date of the ballot for Out of Zone places for years 10-13 remains as Tuesday 8 October.
Any questions regarding the above can be directed to the school.
Thank you.
